Emmet hated it. She hated it how Mrs. Mason could just tell her what she could and couldn't do! Who did the woman think she was? Her grandmother?! Okay, so yeah she was Emmet's grandmother but she didn't act like it. She acted as if she was some hired help and live in nanny and she certainly played the part well. The nerve of that woman. If it wasn't for Emmet and her father, Mrs. Mason would be cold and lonely, without anyone to keep her old pile of bones company.
Stop it, now... Emmet groaned and sat down onto the grass, admiring her black, lace-like Jimmy Choo boots. God she loved shoes. She pulled her Polaroid camera up to her eyes, adjusted the lens and snapped a picture of them. If she allowed herself to waste film, Emmet could sit there for hours and just snap pictures of her shoes and other peoples shoes (if she liked them of course). But she hated calling daddy and asking him to buy her more. Sure photography was her passion but she didn't want to spend her paycheck on film. Did she look stupid to you? Probably... but that isn't the point. The point is getting a hold of daddy was a pain in the bum, asking him to spend money was even worse.
Emmet looked up and away from her boots and towards the hoards of people loving their summer. She shot pictures of people who walked by her, of the old couple sharing a drink, of the little girl balancing herself on the rim of the fountain. Emmet was half expecting the kid to reach in and try to pull out pennies, and by golly the kid tried to when she jumped off. These were the moments Emmet desired to capture on film. But she needed to get closer.
She quickly got up, keeping an eye on the little girl to make sure she didn't miss the shot, patted down her salmon colored sun dress and started walking towards the kid. Emmet wasn't really paying attention, she didn't pay attention to her surroundings often and usually ended up falling. This time she was lucky, she wasn't falling down, but she did run into someone. She stepped back and smiled. "Sorry, didn't see yah there."
So she stood there, waiting for the 'watch where your going kid' or something like that. So when she didn't get that response and looked up, Emmet truly saw someone she didn't expect to see. Its not that it was bad to see the old man she ran into... okay, yes it was. Her neighbor that hated her. She smiled and slowly backed away, ignoring his ranting about kids these days and ran across the grass, laughing and snapping pictures of whoever was near her. Emmet was pretty sure she was about to fall, the boots she was wearing weren't exactly made to run through grass with.

PRETTY BANNER [/IMG] Nikolai set out from his house, his camera around his neck and Leo’s leash in his hand, the large German Shepherd pulling and tugging at the leash, wanting to run and be free from his restraint. Nikolai’s mouth quirked into a frown, jerking the leash with a flick of his wrist. “Leo, no.” The dog let out a whine, turning to look at Nik, as if asking why. A slight smile graced Nik’s pale lips and he shook his head, chuckling slightly.
Nik entered the city park with a small smile on his face. He missed the summer. Perfect time for swimming, a pick up game of soccer, a run with his dogs or finding interesting things to photograph. That was his main reason for coming to the park; there was always something going on that gave him perfect opportunities for great photos.
Looking around the park, Nikolas made his way to a small shaded area and took a seat, resting against the trunk. Leo was whining like crazy, so Nik unhooked his leash, letting Leo roam free. He was well trained, so Nikolai knew there wouldn’t be any problems. Taking a purple tennis ball out of his pocket, he tossed it towards an open area of the park, Leo going full dash after it.
Nikolai’s eyes widened in slight horror as a girl with bright red hair ran across Leo’s path. He’s going to trip her! He opened his mouth to call out to his dog, but luckily the ball rolled in front of the girl right as she paused. Nik smiled slightly as he saw the girl raise a camera. Ah, a fellow photographer. Leo let out a bark, and Nik saw his dog wagging his tail, in a playful crouch, the ball resting at the girl’s feet. Oh god, Leo… no…

Emmet finally stopped running when she felt Mr. Patterson wasn’t about to run after her and she raised her camera, shooting a picture of the tree tops. She continued snapping pictures, loosing herself in the world behind the lens. While taking pictures, Emmet really wondered how models enjoyed their career when they only saw the world from their point but behind the camera you could see a whole new world, a place most people didn’t understand. She clicked one last picture before she felt something nudge her toes.
She looked down, laughing softly when she caught sight of a dog crouched before her, ready to bound after the ball. Emmet picked up the ball and looked around, finally spotting a boy who was watching the dog with wide eyes, Emmet snapped a picture of him before his face changed and then looked back at the dog. ”Want me to throw it?” She knew the dog couldn’t answer her but she still tossed the ball up, caught up and then threw it in the direction she just came. She giggled as the dog bounded off after it and then went to go talk to that boy. She felt the need to tease him, his ball did bump into her shoes.
As Emmet got closer she could make out what the boy looked like, red hair, a nice body and not a whole lot of fashion sense when it came to shoes, but she could forgive him for that. She crouched down near him and smiled, before snapping another picture of him and then of his shoes. He probably thought she was weird, oh well, he could join the club of a million and five people who thought that. She let the camera hang around her neck, tossing the pictures into her purse with the others and smiled brightly. ”You know boy, if you wanted my attention you could have called me over, not having your cute dog do the work for you.” She giggled once more.
Emmet plopped down into her knees, set her purse aside with her camera on top and stuck out her hand with its orange nails. ”I’m Emmet Mason, and you are?” Hey, she needed to know the name of the boy she was going to enjoy teasing. She looked towards the dog to see it running back, her smile broadened. Maybe she wasn’t a fan of owning a dog or babysitting one but they sure as hell were adorable when they weren’t hers.
